Level 2 Certificate in
Cosmetic Makeup
This course is a Level 2 VTCT Certificate and an excellent way to begin your training! You will get all the basics like in Level 1: skin prep and how to apply foundation and contour, and also learn the skills to choose and blend the right colours starting with natural and bridal and competing with glamour bridal and smokey eye just at a faster pace than L1 + different demonstrations every session from natural bridal, glamour Hollywood red carpet, fashion and photoshoots to develop your work as a professional.
Course Outline:
- Full face makeup demo with gorgeous smokey and vibrant looks
- Learning the fundamentals of face & eye shapes & colour theory
- Colour matching, skin undertones, blending techniques & more
- Different Bridal makeups: Natural, Glam, Hollywood, Asian & Fashion
- Contouring & highlighting skills for photoshoots & TV/Film
- Experience working on-set & Behind the scenes assisting creative pros
- Photoshoots with professional photographers to help build your portfolio
- Self-employment & Social media training
VTCT Units:
- Lash & Brow Tinting & shaping treatments
- Photographic makeup application: Fashion, Bridal, Red Carpet & more
- Health & Safety in the Salon
- Display stock & Promote sales
- Options for hairstyling, braiding, barbering, blowdrying & hair-ups
Course Content:
- 12-week makeup course
- Currently available in Manchester
- Kit: £300.00 (Support is available from Prince’s Trust if eligible)
- Makeup kit to include: MORPHE, NYX, MAC, Doll Beauty & Plouise
(skin products, eyeshadow palettes, lip products, lashes, brushes & sponges) - Funding: Available if you are not in education, employment or training
& are between 15 – 25 years old - Course Cost: £2500
Industry Skills:
- 1 Photoshoot session each week
- Working with industry standards in place, learning to work professionally on-set
- Creating Tiktoks, IG Reals, stories & step-by-step carousel posts for social media
- Portfolio building days
- Masterclasses from local hair and makeup artists
- Makeup Bootcamp days with salons and businesses taking on staff
- We include social media skills, Business professionalism, invoicing & self-employment skills
- Health & safety talks & practicals are included in-salon & in business sessions
- Guest Masterclasses – High fashion, prom, glamorous & evening makeups
- All students will have the opportunity of work placements
