This course is a Level 1 Award and an excellent way to begin your training! You will get all the basics like skin prep and how to apply foundation and contour, and also learn the skills to choose and blend the right colours starting with natural and bridal and competing with glamour bridal and smokey eye so that you can do your own makeup or even your friends, you can then progress onto more professional courses if you feel that you would like to change career or learn something new.

Course Outline:

Full face makeup demo in each lesson
Learning the fundamentals of face & eye shapes & colour theory
Cleaning & looking after your own skin & developing a skincare routine
Colour matching, skin undertones, blending techniques & more
Contouring & highlighting skills
Photoshoots with professional photographers to help build your portfolio
Self-employment & Social media training

Course Content:

10-week makeup course
Currently available in Manchester
Kit: £250.00 (Support is available from Prince’s Trust if eligible)
Makeup kit to include: MORPHE, NYX, MAC, Doll Beauty & Plouise
(skin products, eyeshadow palettes, lip products, lashes, brushes & sponges)
Funding: Available if you are not in education, employment or training
& are between 15 – 25 years old
Course Cost: £1000

Industry Skills:

1 Photoshoot session each week
Working with industry standards in place, learning to work professionally on-set
Creating Tiktoks, IG Reals, stories & step-by-step carousel posts for social media
Portfolio building days
Masterclasses from local hair and makeup artists
Makeup Bootcamp days with salons and businesses taking on staff
We include social media skills, Business professionalism, invoicing & self-employment skills
Health & safety talks & practicals are included in-salon & in business sessions
Guest Masterclasses – High fashion, prom, glamorous & evening makeups
All students will have the opportunity of work placements
