Apply & Style Wigs
Our How to Apply and Style Wigs course is designed to teach you how to apply, customize, and style wigs for a variety of clients. You’ll learn about different types of wigs, how to properly fit them, and how to customize them to meet your clients’ needs.
Course Units:
Week 1: Introduction to Wigs
Week 2: Wig Preparation
Week 3: Wig Application
Week 4: Wig Cutting and Styling
Week 5: Wig Maintenance
Week 6: Advanced Wig Styling
Our experienced instructors will guide you through the course, providing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to practice on mannequin heads and real-life clients (with their consent) to develop their skills and gain confidence in wig application and styling. They will also be encouraged to explore their creativity and experiment with different wig styles to develop their own unique techniques and style.
During a 6-week course on how to apply and style wigs, students will have the opportunity to track their progress in various ways. First, they will receive feedback from their instructor on their technique, precision, and overall performance during practical exercises. This feedback will help them identify areas for improvement and give them a clear understanding of their current skill level. Additionally, students can compare their work to before and after photos of their wig styling to see the progress they’ve made over the course of the program. As they advance through the program, students will also be challenged with more complex wig styling assignments, allowing them to build on the skills they have learned and demonstrate their increasing proficiency. Finally, students may be asked to perform wig styling on real-life clients, which will provide them with an opportunity to put their newfound skills to the test and receive feedback from satisfied customers.
You’ll learn how to style wigs for different occasions and how to properly care for them to ensure they last.
At the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with all the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to apply and style wigs. You’ll receive a certificate of completion, recognized by employers throughout the industry.
After finishing our 6-week course on how to apply and style wigs, one could pursue a career as a wig stylist, further education withing the hair and beauty industry, work in the entertainment industry, or offer wig services as part of a salon or beauty business.
